Detroit Border Patrol agents stop kidnapping, rescue two women

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Border Patrol agents are being credited with rescuing two women who were reportedly being kidnapped by an armed suspect.

The incident happened on Monday, July 22 around 12 :45 p.m.

The agents were driving westbound on I-94 heading into Detroit when a citizen flagged the agents down saying she had just witnessed a kidnapping.

The witness described the vehicle to the agents. The agents located the vehicle minutes later.

Agents pulled the vehicle over. The female driver told them that she and the other woman were being held against their will.

They reported that the man in the passenger seat used a weapon to abduct them.

Detroit Police arrived as backup. The suspect, 30-year-old David Anderson, was arrested and charged with Kidnapping and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

The victims were unarmed..
