An executive chef at a Detroit restaurant will be featured on an episode of the popular Food Network show "Chopped" next week.

Allie Lyttle, the executive chef of Parks and Rec Diner, will be a contestant on the show, which will air Tuesday, June 27 on the Food Network, according to the diner

Lyttle took over as executive chef in March after Chef Sarah Welch was relieved of her duties, according to the Detroit Free Press.

"I loved representing Detroit and the Parks  and Rec Diner in this competition and learned a lot about the behind the scenes process of making a TV show," she said in a statement. "Like Detroit, I stayed true to myself and you'll have to check in to see the outcome."

In the show, four chefs compete to create dishes using crazy combinations of ingredients that are later judged by four judges. One contestant is eliminated, or "Chopped," after each dish until only one contestant remains.
