Detroit job fair aims to hire local veterans

A huge job fair on Thursday, June 16, 2016 is aimed at hiring our heroes.

The Detroit Veteran Job Fair, put on by Recruit Military, is hosting more than 60 companies with more than 100 available positions. The companies participating are looking to hire men and women who served this country. 

"They're the best talent out there; veterans are number one. They're reliable, they're dependable, they work in teams. Overall, they're some of the best candidates into your workplace," says Chris Cravens, Recruit Military. 

Ford Motor Company is sponsoring the event. Other big names hiring: Fiat Chrysler, General Electric, The Home Depot, The Federal Aviation Administration and Quicken Loans. 

"We are looking for the best possible people with the skills we need and we know veterans bring that to Ford Motor Company and certainly supporting men and women who served in the military is important for the nation," says Laura Kurtz, Ford Motor Company manager of U.S. recruiting.
