(WXYZ) - The Centers for Disease Control is working to educate travelers on the MERS outbreak by posting health advisories in airports.
Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is a viral respiratory illness that was first reported in Saudi Arabia. Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport is among the list of airports that will display the MERS posters.
A total of 22 airports are participating in displaying the information about the illness.
The list includes: New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), LaGuardia (LGA), Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago (ORD), Washington (IAD), Houston (IAH), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Atlanta (ATL), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Miami (MIA), Denver (DEN), Orlando (MCO), Boston (BOS), Minneapolis/St Paul (MSP), Detroit (DTW), San Diego (SAN), Philadelphia (PHL), Charlotte (CLT), Las Vegas (LAS), Baltimore (BMI).
