(WXYZ) - The 7 Action News team has obtained the bills to the City of Detroit from the Jones Day law firm for consulting work as the city faces possible bankruptcy with an $18 billion deficit.
The bill is for $1.4 million for only 6 weeks of work. The payment has been approved by Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr, who resigned from that firm to become EM.
Jones Day has a 6 month contract worth $3.3 million so more bills are coming. Much of what work was done by the attorneys is redacted.
The bills include a list of expenses including $4300 for copying, $4400 for printing, $9198 for air fare and $1751 for hotels.
Jones Day is one of nine consultants hired to help the city costing some $14 million dollars in the early stages.
