Detroit police will step-up security for Monday’s firework show at Hart Plaza.

Chief James Craig says the Flint terrorist attack reminds them to be vigilant.

"When you think about what happened in Flint that's just a reminder we don't wait for something bad to happen. We think proactively," he says.

Craig says they’re expecting a big crowd. They will have officers in uniform and undercover. He asked those attending to say something if they see something so police can investigate.

The Peace Peddlers are a new group that consist of veterans that ride bicycles and help officers patrol neighborhoods and greenlight businesses.

"We should not let the terrorists impact how we live our lives, that's their whole agenda. Come out and enjoy the day it's going to be a great day.”
