Detroit Police search for man who shot, killed 22 y.o.

(WXYZ) - The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred on July 17.

Police say a 22-year-old man was walking home from the store on the corner of West Vernor and Vinewood when he was shot by a man who approached him carrying a handgun around 2:30 p.m.

Once the victim was on the ground, police say the suspect stood over him and shot him multiple times, killing him. 

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with a husky build. He was seen wearing a red and black Chicago Bulls baseball cap and a red shirt with a star on the front. The star had the word "Detroit" written in the middle. 

Police believe he may also have an injured leg.
