(WXYZ) - A retired Detroit Public Schools teacher is shocked after finding out a student stole her vehicle and ransacked her purse.
Stephanie Ratcliff was substitute teaching at Osborne High School when her car went missing.
She tells 7 Action News she found her vehicle at a tow yard after receiving a tip that her keys had been returned to the high school by a student. Her car had been ransacked, her purse emptied and her Motown music collection was gone.
Ratcliff says she told the Detroit Public Schools Police Department about the incident, but they weren't much help.
Although this was a bad incident, Ratcliff says she will continue to teach because she loves it so much.
We're also told DPS has identified the student and they are now facing possible criminal charges.
