The application process begins for thousands of Detroit teens and youth who want to earn money during summer break.

This summer will mark the third year for Grow Detroit's Young Talent.

The program will find summer jobs for 8,000 youth in the city from 14 to 24-years-old.

Those jobs range from working at the mayor's office to working for major companies like DTE, sports teams like the Pistons and non-profits. New this year the jobs will include expanded vocational training and the opportunity to earn training certificates.

The program's goal is to introduce and motive teens towards jobs and careers after high school, and often times give them their first taste at earning a paycheck.

The application process is open now online at GDYT.org.
