DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - A big crime spree spanning through Detroit into Dearborn. Now, the U.S. Marshals need your help finding a dangerous fugitive.

It was evidence from an armed robbery in August that led police to John Evans and even more crimes. Just days after his release from prison, the U.S. Marshals say Evans went on a crime spree and they need your help to send him back to jail.

“Evans and his four associates walk into this place, Evans apparently looks to be the ringleader giving orders to the guys,” Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia said.

The robbery happened at Kay Beauty Supply on Wyoming in Dearborn where store employees were taken at gunpoint.

“The girls are screaming, they don’t know what to do, they’re getting pistol whipped at this point- hit in the head with pistols – one of the females gets punched in the face, they’re demanding money,” Garcia said.

The video shows Evans wearing a distinctive hat which says Mungio, a Chicago based band.

“That band was robbed, their trailer was robbed and their van was robbed the day before this incident and several of those hats were stolen,” Garcia said.

While staying in Detroit, about $60,000 worth of equipment, including their hats was stolen, which a parole officer spotted at Evans home during a check.

The Marshals also say the stolen Tahoe used in the beauty supply robbery, links Evans to other crimes.

“That same Tahoe was linked to another gas station robbery prior,” Garcia said.

It was later found burned out in Detroit.

John Evans is 29 years old, he’s 5’10” and 190 pounds with a history of resisting arrest and should be considered armed and dangerous.

“Turn yourself in, do the right thing, we’re going to find you,” Garcia said.

As always, there’s a reward for any information leading to John Evan’s arrest. You can call the U.S. Marshals anytime at (313) 234-5656.
