Two disturbing phone calls were made to the principal's office at Mason Elementary School in Grosse Pointe Woods on Wednesday afternoon.
Action News has learned the calls came in just before 2:30 p.m. and the caller said he wanted to take pictures of girls.
"They were from a blocked phone number that had conversation of a sexual nature. They were very brief phone calls, says Dr. Thomas Harwood, superintendent of Grosse Pointe Public Schools.
"My son was scared even though he's a boy. He said he came running home because he was nervous about it," says Mike Lentine, the father of a 5th grader at Mason Elementary school.
The school called police after receiving those disturbing calls. Security was stepped up for a second day at the school. An officer patrolled school grounds as kids went home for the day.
"We're a community that watches out for each other ... They're gonna be informed," says Dr. Harwood.
"Don't know if it's for real or just a joke, so it's good that they notified everybody," says Lentine.
Action News has reached out to Grosse Pointe Woods police, but so far our calls haven't been returned.
