DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Education Achievement Authority of Michigan has named Veronica Conforme as their Interim Chancellor.
Conforme was a former New York City public schools leader who ran the operations of America's Largest School District.
She has also been an advisor to the EAA since January.
While in New York, she was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of the district. She oversaw a $23 billion budget and 130,000 employees throughout the city's 1,700 schools.
Former EAA Chancellor John Covington announced he was leaving the post yesterday.
Covington left behind a trail of questionable spending and late Tuesday we learned, the authority is losing millions in revenue.
