(WXYZ) - Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII are set to be canonized Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Vatican time, or 4 a.m. local time here in Detroit.
There are a lot of different events going on around the metro area for the canonization of both popes.
On the campus of Orchard Lake St. Mary's, a vigil is going to be held at 9 p.m. Saturday night, and have events running all the way until a dinner at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. That includes a live-viewing of the canonization at 4 a.m. at the Shrine Chapel. You can find a list of those events by clicking here.
The Blessed John Paul II Parish in Hamtramck is having a special mass with Polish dancers for it's 11 a.m. Sunday mass, and also a luncheon to celebrate the canonization.
At St. Faustina Parish in Warren, a special mass is happening at 11 a.m. on Sunday, and feature two united Italian and Polish choirs.
Also, at SS. Cyril & Methodius Parish in Sterling Heights, a live viewing of the canonization will start at 4 a.m. Sunday, with doors opening at 3 a.m. More information by clicking here.
Finally, the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak is having a live viewing in their church of the canonization starting at 3:30 a.m. The doors open at 3 a.m. and they are welcoming anyone who wants to come. For more information, click here.
