(WXYZ) - The 7 Action News Investigators fact-checked last night's debate between Mike Duggan and Benny Napoleon.
We found the issues that needed the most scrutiny were raised by the candidate who asked for the fact-checks.
Napoleon charged Duggan can not take credit for the turnaround of the Detroit Medical Center where Duggan was CEO. Napoleon did take credit for being a Detroit Police Officer while Duggan had lived in Livonia a Detroit suburb. Duggan grew up in Detroit and moved back to run for Mayor.
Napoleon also claimed that Detroit stations pulled an attack ad that claimed Napoleon was responsible for the troubles with the new Wayne County Jail. However, no stations pulled that ad.
Stations usually don't get involved in the content of political ads. This one was put together by a Political Action Committee called Turnaround Detroit.
