FEMA to assess metro Detroit neighborhoods hit hard by severe flooding

(WXYZ) - Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA] will begin touring area neighborhoods hit hard by the floods.

This means some much-needed federal funds could finally be coming our the way.

We're told FEMA won't visit every home and business flooded.

However, all of the damage information will be put into a report that FEMA leaders will review.

Once the assessments are completed, the state will determine if the disaster meets the proper requirements for Governor Snyder to successfully request federal assistance.
