Firefighters have extinguished a massive house fire on Detroit's east side.
The house is located off Van Dyke just east of I-94. Smoke could be seen billowing over the freeway earlier this morning.
We're told the fire started around 5 a.m. and when crews arrived, the house was already engulfed.
Firefighters tell 7 Action News they suspect arson. A gas canister was found at the scene.
A man did live in the home, but was not there at the time of the fire. He tells 7 Action News he recently moved in and it was his first house purchase.
