Flood damage forces Warren couple to throw away 50 years worth of belongings

Joe & Mary Miller have lived in their Warren home for 50 years, but on Wednesday they had to watch as many of their belongings ended up in the trash.

"I felt bad because they're throwing our things out, but i guess we have to. That's the only way to go," says Mary Miller.

Monday's flooding destroyed just about everything they've kept in their basement
over the course of 50 years. The clean-up is far from over.

"It's very sad to see everything go, but it has to be disposed of," says Launa Collins. The Millers are her grandparents.

Collins and many other family members are clearing out the basement.
"We're just working together as a family. All we have is our family. Most everything has water damage and the water is seeping through the bottom all the way up through the items," she says.

Along the way, they did find some precious pictures that are still dry. Their wedding album, filled with pictures from 1959, was spared too.

"it's great. I'm glad we have it," says Mary Miller.
