(WXYZ) - Fifty vintage Ford Pintos will take to the road for charity July 18, going from Hell to Dearborn for the Pinto Stampede 2014.
In an effort to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Project, the collector vehicles will start their journey at the Comfort Inn at Greenfield Village and head to Ford's annual internal Product Development Center Employee Truck & Car Show in Dearborn.
They will also make stops at the Henry Ford Museum and the Ford & Mercury Restorers Club Car Show on their ride to "Hell and Back."
Enthusiasts of the Ford Pinto, made from 1971 to 1980, decided to organize a charity drive as a way to celebrate the vehicle's 40th anniversary in 2011.
In the past four years, the event has collected over $38,000 for the Wounded Warriors Project.
