LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) - When at work, Livonia City Councilman Tom Robinson brings energy to the job.
But he is struggling, feeling more worn down every day.
Robinson has Berger's Disease which is shutting down his kidneys. His wife and young stepdaughter are watching him get sicker every day.
Tom's wife, Julie, set up Tomr.org asking for the pubilc's help to save his life, but then a friend heard about the need.
Melissa Agosta, who met Tom when the two worked together as teenagers soon learned she was the match and decided to donate her kidney.
Melissa's husband says he is amazed at his wife's open generosity and looks forward to watching the Robinson family enjoy a bright future.
The surgery is now scheduled for November 7.
Melissa and Tom hope their story inspires others to live with both generosity and hope.
