(WXYZ) - White House officials announced that General Motors CEO Mary Barra will be among the individuals chosen to sit in the First Lady's Box at the State of the Union Address on Tuesday night.
The guests who are invited to sit with the First Lady "represent the stories of millions of Americans across the country, who are working hard to better their communities, improve their own economic outcomes and help restore opportunity for all."
Barra was named Chief Executive Officer of General Motors effective January 15.
President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address is scheduled for 9 p.m.
