SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Attorney Geoffrey Fieger is filing a $50 million lawsuit against the State of Michigan and a state police trooper for a chase that resulted in one death and multiple injuries on July 3.
A 64-year-old woman was killed when the car she was traveling in was hit by a state police vehicle that was pursing another car in Flint. Two other people inside the vehicle were also injured.
Fieger formally announced the suit in a press conference at his offices on Tuesday.
Michigan State Police officials say troopers were following department policy when the chase began.
The crash remains under investigation.
