Government budget cuts depleat unemployment checks for 75K Michigan residents

(WXYZ) - Government budget cuts are about to slice into a lot of Michigan unemployment checks.

Almost 75,000 Michigan residents receive money from the Federal Emergency Unemployment Program.

Starting March 31, their checks will shrink almost 11% because of the Sequester Cuts.

The average benefit will be $254 per week - down about $30.
