Home invasion and assault have Redford Police warning residents to lock windows and doors

REDFORD (WXYZ) - "I'll blow your head off if you come any further," is what Donald Daraban said a neighbor, a woman in her sixties, told the stranger who reached in one of her open windows and grabbed her arm after making vulgar sexual remarks.

It happened at 4:55 a.m. Friday on the 15500 block of Lexington in Redford Township.

The man fled after the woman made that verbal threat to shoot him.

"They got to catch him," said Daraban about the man who police believe also made his way into a home on the 14000 block of San Jose through an unlocked door.

The incident on San Jose took place around 3:20 a.m.

The two locations are only about two miles apart, and police are urging residents to lock their doors and windows.

On San Jose Street, Redford Police say the man walked inside the house where a woman was sleeping on the couch. The woman woke up to noises and the man "made sexual advances towards the woman and fled the scene once he realized the woman was not alone in the home," according to a press release from police.

The intruder is described as a black male standing 5'7", weighing 150 - 180 lbs. He was wearing a striped polo style shirt and mesh shorts.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Redford Township Police at (313)387-2551.
