(WXYZ) - Loyd Dejohn is facing a new charge in connection to his wife Kim's disappearance.
He was in court today on a domestic violence charge, but he was also charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
According to police, Dejohn is a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife.
In court, Kim's daughter said "It was hard to look at his face. The last time I looked at his face I thought he was a nice guy," she says.
On Wednesday, a body was found up north near Cheboygan. It was buried in a shallow grave. Action News has learned it was wrapped in plastic and rolled in carpet. Investigators believe the carpet matches that of carpet they found cut out of the Dejohn home during the execution of a search warrant. Police believe it is the body of Kim Dejohn, but positive identification has yet to be made through DNA.
They do say that tattoos found on the body are consistent with those that Kim Dejohn was known to have.
The autopsy could be finished as early as Friday.
Loyd Dejohn is being held on a $1 million bond.
