Police investigating after man shot, killed in Inkster

INKSTER, Mich. (WXYZ) - Inkster police are investigating after a man was found dead just after midnight Monday. 

They say a homicide investigation is underway right now.

John Daly Street near Michigan Avenue is blocked off. Michigan State Police is also on the scene. 

MSP says the victim, a 27-year-old man, was riding around with his friends when their vehicle broke down on Oakland. The man then pushed his car, with the help of another driver, onto John Daly before he was shot and killed by another person, according to police. 

The victim was found in the road near his vehicle with the driver and front passenger doors wide open.

Police are now searching for the driver of a small silver four-door car who stopped to help the man, hoping to gather more information.
