Investigators trying to determine if John Wayne Gacy was connected to Michigan murders

(WXYZ) - It was a case that fascinated and horrified the country in the 1970s.

Now, there's word serial killer John Wayne Gacy may be connected to two murders in Michigan.

It's been 2 years since a Chicago area sheriff's department reopened the Gacy case.

He was the infamous 1970s era serial killer referred to as the "Killer Clown" because he often dressed as "Pogo the Clown" and attended fundraisers, charitable events and children's parties.

Gacy was executed in 1994 for the rape, sexual assault and murder of at least 33 teenage boys and young men.

Twenty-six of his victims were stuffed in the crawl space of his home. Others were buried on his property.

Now, we have learned that Gacy traveled through Michigan during the 70s and investigators are seeing if he could be linked to a rape and murder case of two young boys around that time.

We have calls into several Michigan state police sources and other state and county law enforcement agencies to see if they have had to assist in this investigation.
