Jalen Rose spends time tweeting after release from jail

The former NBA star served time for drunk driving

WXYZ - Former NBA star Jalen Rose has been released from jail.

Shortly after midnight Rose was a free man.

He sent out a tweet saying, "Back on the block & the grind continues...Live. Love. Learn. & Leave a Legacy--THANKS to EVERYONE for the prayers & well wishes."

Rose was locked up August 2 after a March accident where he pled guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

The ESPN analyst told a judge he veered off an icy West Bloomfield Township road after having 6 martinis.

It looks like he is getting a lot of support on Twitter now that he is being released. He sent out numerous tweets overnight thanking folks for their kind words. The 38-year-old now faces a year on probation.

In college Rose was a member of the University of Michigan's "Fab Five." He then went on to play for six different NBA teams including the Denver Nuggets, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers. The Detroit native attended Southwestern High School.
