(WXYZ) - A Wayne County Circuit Judge could decide on Tuesday whether to release documents that will show who was under consideration to be Detroit's Emergency Manager before Kevyn Orr was given the job in March.
In a rare move on Friday afternoon, the state Attorney General filed a motion on behalf of Governor Rick Snyder to block the release based on Executive Privilege.
Union activist Robert Davis filed the lawsuit and wants the judge to release the documents so the people of Detroit can see who was involved in "the conspiracy behind closed doors."
Davis contends one of the candidates was Detroit Mayoral Candidate Mike Duggan. Duggan tells 7 Action News that he was first approached about being Emergency Manager two years ago and that he "turned it down flat."
Judge Maria Oxholm has scheduled a hearing for 11 a.m. Tuesday to decide the case.
