(WXYZ) - Two grocery stores are putting up the "help wanted" sign Tuesday.
Both Kroger and Aldi have announced they're searching for new employees to fill positions in Michigan stores.
Kroger says they're planning to hire 2,000 people over the next year-and-a-half. The grocery store chain says 90% of those jobs will be part-time, but 85 of those positions will be full-time store management associates.
Kroger has announced they're opening two new stores in Michigan. A new store in Commerce Township will open this year, replacing a current store and a new store is scheduled to open in Claire County in 2014.
Aldi is also hiring new employees, but they'll be hosting a job fair to fill positions in their Macomb and Oakland County stores.
The event will run from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., then again from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Aldi location on Van Dyke in Sterling Heights.
Positions to be filled are for cashiers and shift managers.
To apply, you must be at least 18-years-old and have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
