DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - Legendary entertainment & banking industry mogul Don Davis has passed away at age 75.
Davis, a Detroit native, passed away yesterday after battling a brief illness.
Davis was CEO and chairman of First Independence Bank, which is Michigan’s only African-American owned and operated commercial bank,
He was also a Grammy Award-winning producer, pioneering musical work at Motown Records, as well as his independent label Groovesville Music/BMI, and for his success as an independent, Detroit music producer and executive at Stax Records.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife Kiko, and three children.
