TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) - Children's Leukemia Foundation is asking people to start gathering toys for leukemia patients just before the holiday season.
"A leukemia or blood-related cancer can be emotionally, physically and financially draining for families, leaving little funds or spare time for holiday celebrations," said William Seklar, president and CEO of CLF. "We believe that every child should experience the joy of the holiday season and hope that receiving a gift can help brighten the day of a CLF patient, their siblings and the whole family."
The Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is collecting new, unwrapped toys and gift cards for children and teens whose families are affected by leukemia, lymphoma and related blood disorders. For ideas of what children and teens night need visit
Last year, Children Leukemia Foundation provided toys, games and gift cards for more than 900 children from more than 400 CLF families across Michigan. CLF provides gifts to all child patients and their siblings as well as children of adult patients.
CLF also invites organizations and individuals to host a holiday toy drive.
Donations can be brought to CLF's Troy office located at 5455 Corporate Drive, Suite 306 or its Grand Rapids offices located at 146 Monroe Center NW, Suite 810. Contact Kristen West at 800.825.2536 to schedule a drop off time or if you'd like to make a donation outside the two areas listed.
