LIST: Snow emergencies around metro Detroit

(WXYZ) - A looming winter storm has caused numerous cities in metro Detroit to declare snow emergencies.

During a snow emergency, residents in many communities are required to move their vehicles from the streets so that plows can get through. And if they don't move their cars in time, they could be issued a ticket.

In communities like Ferndale and Royal Oak, residents that do not have a driveway or a place to park in the rear of their residence may be approved for permits that will allow them to continue to park on residential streets during a snow emergency, but the sticker permit must be visible to passing police officers and road crews.
