(WXYZ) - A Livingston County man was indicted on charges of manufacturing child pornography over a 5-month period.
United States Attorney Barbara L. McQuade announced the 10-count indictment on Tuesday which alleges that Matthew Lewis Colston, 30, used a cell phone to persuade and entice a minor to engage in sexual activity and then also used that phone to distribute obscene material to a child.
"These despicable crimes victimize and exploit innocent children. Through the SEMCAC (Southeast Michigan Crimes Against Children) task force, the FBI is committed to the arrest and prosecution of criminals who engage in such deplorable, heinous behavior," said Special Agent in Charge Robert D. Foley III; FBI Detroit Division in a press release.
If convicted of manufacturing child pornography, Colston faces up to 30 years in prison.
