DETROIT (WXYZ) - Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will be sentenced on September 3, six months after he was found guilty of racketeering, bribery, extortion, tax and other charges.
Kilpatrick's friend and former city contractor Bobby Ferguson will be sentenced the following day on September 4, 2013.
Both men potentially face decades behind bars.
Following a five-month trial, a jury found both men guilty of racketeering, extortion, bribery and other charges. Kilpatrick's father, Bernard Kilpatrick, also was convicted of tax evasion. Bernard Kilpatrick's sentencing is scheduled for September 10.
Kilpatrick is currently being held at Milan Correctional Facility.
No sentencing date has been yet for ex-Water Department Director Victor Mercado. Mercado was indicted as a member of the Kilpatrick Enterprise, but entered a guilty plea a few months into the trial.
