DETROIT (WXYZ) - 7 Action News has learned that three witnesses in Turkia Mullin's lawsuit against the Wayne County Airport Authority took the Fifth Amendment and refused to answer questions during depositions last month.
Mullin is suing the authority for $700,000 following her dismissal in the wake of the severance scandal first uncovered by 7 Action News.
Sources are telling 7 Action News that former Assistant Wayne County CEO, former Wayne County Airport Authority Board member Charlie Williams and former chair of the Wayne County Airport Authority Board Renee Pipis Axt refused to answer questions about the hiring and firing of Mullin as CEO of the airport.
Both Axt and Elder resigned from their rolls in Wayne County government in the wake of the severance scandal. They are also both being looked at by the FBI as part of the ongoing corruption probe into Wayne County.
According to the state of Michigan's website Charlie Williams' term on the airport's board expired on 10/1/2012.
