Former Ficano aide pleads guilty to fraud, 4th conviction so far
DETROIT (WXYZ) - Former Assistant Wayne County Executive Michael Grundy pleaded guilty to wire fraud Tuesday in U.S. District Court.
Grundy said in court that $400,000 went from Wayne County Health Choice to another company that never got services--and some of that money was kicked back to him.
All this follows last year's grand jury indictment of Grundy on 32 charges, including extortion and obstruction of justice.
The 7 Action News Investigators first exposed the FBI investigation into Grundy's alleged kickback scheme from county vendors.
Grundy's attorney asked that he get between 37 and 46 months behind bars. Prosecutors want 168 to 210 months.
The judge will make her sentencing ruling at later time.
