(WXYZ) - Attention all wine lovers! Starting Friday, you can now bring your favorite wines to some bars and restaurants across Michigan.
Michigan House Bill 5046 allows people to bring their own wine into restaurants and bars in the state, as long as they have a liquor license. It's up to each of the establishments to determine whether they will allow you to do this.
Hotels are exempt from the law, and do not have to allow people to bring in their own wines.
Also, if you can't finish the bottle of wine you brought, don't worry, you can take it back home as long as it's corked.
Call ahead if you do plan to bring a bottle because restaurants can charge you a cork fee.
