Firefighters search for dog's owner after rescuing from frozen lake

BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., (WXYZ) - The Brighton Fire Department is looking for the owner of a dog rescues from a frozen lake Sunday.

A black lab fell through the ice on Lake Moraine in Brighton Township Sunday.

A local homeowner helped to keep the dog above the water before crews arrived. Using special suits, Brighton firefighters were able to pull the dog from the water within minutes of arriving.

Now their mission is to find it's owner.

The dog is being cared for at the Towne and Country Animal Hospital until it's owners can be contacted.
