Dr. Dubay is a general surgeon who specializes in breast cancer and breast health. She has been in private practice since 1993 and has been a board certified general surgeon since 1994. She started her education at The University of Michigan where she received an Honors B.S in Cellular and Molecular Biology. She began her medical training at Wayne State University, School of Medicine and completed her surgical residency at Providence Hospital, Southfield Michigan. She has worked and lived in the Metro Detroit area since starting her practice with her practice now focused at both Providence in Southfield and Providence Park in Novi.
Dr. Dubay has been the Chair of General Surgery for Providence Hospital and has held numerous leadership roles throughout the St. John Health organization. She plays an active role in the general surgery, Ob/Gyn, and Family Practice residency programs at Providence. Dr. Dubay was named surgical teacher of the year at Providence in 2005-2006. She also gives frequent breast health talks to the public, nursing staff, and physicians, including the Southeast Michigan Board review course yearly for surgical residents throughout Michigan on the topic of breast disease and cancer.
With such a special interest in breast surgery, Dr. Dubay is up-to-date and proficient in the latest surgical techniques and breast cancer treatments. She is extremely interested in breast cancer research and takes part in numerous breast cancer conferences and research trials.
Dr. Dubay's philosophy stresses both compassionate care as well as the best cosmetic result possible using onco-plastic techniques where possible. Dr. Dubay also works with several plastic surgeons to provide immediate and delayed reconstruction of the breast. She is also involved in trials of new technology including partial breast irradiation (Mammosite), and soon … cryoablation of benign tumors.
Dr. Dubay is a Michigan native and resides here with her husband, who is also a physician, and her 3 children.
