Biden Enjoys Coney with Granholm in Detroit

Last Update: 11/09 7:51 pm

DETROIT (AP) — Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm usually picks up the phone if she wants to talk to a member of the Obama administration.

On Monday, the second-term Democrat picked up a fork.

Granholm and Vice President Joe Biden chowed down on a couple of hot dogs during a photo op at a famed Detroit eatery, Lafayette Coney Island.

The pair strolled in, said a few hellos to the other diners, then settled in at the counter for their meal — a chili dog with no onions and a Diet Coke.

Granholm insisted on paying, but the veep quickly shot her down.

Biden pulled out a bunch of bills, smiled and announced: "I got $100 with me. I'll even buy the press a hot dog!"

The governor ate her dog with a fork. Biden was content to use his hands.
