Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy, in a statement to the media earlier today, explained why Turner was let go.

"There is insufficient evidence for us to issue a warrant at this time," said Worthy. "The suspect will be released in the best interests of justice. The Detroit Police Department and the Detroit Public Schools Office of Public Safety Officers will continue to work diligently on this case.

"We urge any person with information to contact the Detroit Police Department."
