ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) - A judge Monday ruled there is enough evidence for Ihab Maslamani to go to trial in a carjacking case in Roseville.
David Hassroune, while intently staring down Maslamani, told the court what he remembered about the day he was carjacked at a Roseville shopping center parking lot in August.
"I went to get out of the car, and there was a gun pointed at me," Hassroune said.
He said he was sitting in his car with the door open, preparing to put freon in his air conditioner when he saw the gun and heard Maslamani say, "Get out of the car and start running."
Hassroune said he just got a glimpse of the suspect, but remembers he was wearing a wig
and had tattoos on his hands and arms.
Prosecutors said it was Maslamani with the gun. They said he ditched the wig, as well as the gun and a loaded gun clip while running from police. But he was caught and tasered by the cops.
According to investigators, carjacking Hassroune was the final act of a three-day crime spree that included a bank robbery and the murder of Matthew Landry.
In court watching the proceedings was Landry family friend Bob Perugi.
"I love my friend Matthew, he's gone," said Perugi. "This stupid jerk took him from us."
Once the judge ruled there was enough evidence for the case to go to trial, Maslamani smiled before being taken back to jail.
