If Michigan has one of the highest usuage percentages in the COUNTRY, why is this still a ongoing program. Just admit it's another money grabbing technique, and be done with it. When Macomb county runs their "money pit" south of 696 on Vand*ke they have six or more MSP, Sheriff and Centerline cars waiting in an empty lot 2 blocks south of the Xway, like shooting fish in a barrel. I always wear mine, and my three college age sons always wear theirs. Smart kids.

Keep enforcing the seat belts, we need as much safety on the roads as we can get. We just need more cops out there to control the speeders. That is where the tickets need to be stiffer. People are in too much of a hurry here in Michigan. Its like the speed limit is 85 not 70.

Has anyone ever noticed any reductions in your car insurance premiums now that Michigan has the highest compliance rate of seatbelt use in the nation?

The enforcement zones are all at night. How are the police going to even be able to see if you're wearing your seatbelt? This is targeted alcohol enforcement, not seatbelt enforcement people.

Are seatbelts required on school busses? What about DOT & SMART busses?
