DETROIT (WXYZ) - It was a horrific scene, right after the Red Wings game Thursday night, when a teenager was dragged to his death in what may be a hit-and-run.
The parents of Ryan Rosman are preparing to lay their son to rest. The 19-year-old Michigan State student was killed after an accident outside Joe Louis Arena. Police say Rosman was dragged by a car or a bus for about a quarter mile.
Detroit Police Assistant Chief Ralph Godbee says there's several scenarios they're looking into. Investigators say it's possible Ryan hid under a tour bus near the arena, possibly as a joke. Or, Ryan could've been hit by a bus or a car.
"He was either under the bus or near the bus," Godbee said. "What we're trying to figure out is, did the bus drag him or did another vehicle hit him and drag him?"
Whatever happened Ryan was dragged from somewhere near the JLA all the way to the corner of Michigan and Washington, an estimated quarter of a mile. Police will now rely on witness accounts to find out exactly what happened.
