All of those judging this family should be ashamed of themselves. Where is this world's compassion for others? To hear some of these comments at this time of year around Jesus's birthday, when we all should have more love in our hearts is really sad. Let's try to be like Jesus....if you are Christian than show your Chrisitanity. Let's love one another and help as many people in this world that we can. Isn't that what Jesus wants from us. That's what he did and He expects the same from us. Open your heart, stop judging others and be happy that one more family in this state have saved their home from the generosity of others. If we all were kind and generous, this world would be so much better than it is.

I feel for this family but the story left out one critical element. Why did they refinance? Did they own the house outright after the show? They refinanced and their payments have almost doubled since that time. Obviously they refied into a variable interest only or an option arm. Whoever advised them to do that gave terrible, terrible advice.

Alot of Bitter, misunderstandings out there. This is so sad. A FAMILY IN NEED HAS ASKED FOR HELP, AND WAS GIVEN THE HELP. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY NEEDED IT AGAIN, AND ASKED, AND RECEIVED. LOOK AT THE SITUATION AGAIN. MEDICAL COSTS AGAIN. LIVE THEIR LIFE FOR ONE HOUR IF YOU COULD, TRY TO BE COMPASSIONATE AND SEE AND FEEL WHAT THEY EXPERIENCE ON A DAILY BASIS. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU READ ONE COMMENT, IT REALLY SETS OFF SOME OPINIONS, ATTITUDES. LOOK AT IT BOTH WAYS, OR ANOTHER WAY, THIS COULD BE yyyoooUUUU!!!!!

This is the second family that I know of that is in danger of losing or has lost their extreme makeover to foreclosure. The harpers from Atlanta borrowed against theirs to start a construction company that folded. I think that what the show does is great but there should be stipulations that prevent them from running these risks. This is sad...

before the world feels bad we should have the whole story how much did they owe and how much did the borrow after refi. can't use the house as an atm.

This is for lolstevelol. Wow! I am so sad for you that you need to spend a lot of time tearing people down. During this season of love, hope, and giving, I wish this for you...I wish you never have others judge you for your misfortunes. I hope that God shows you the mercy that you don't seem to be showing others. I hope that you never have any child in your life have to suffer from deafness...or blindness...or Autism....because I don't think you are kind enough to be able to love a child with special needs. May God have mercy on your sad, small soul. Merry Christmas and may God bless our children.

Can anybody explain why the Vardon's mortgage payment almost doubled after they refinanced? Isn't the purpose of refinancing to get a better rate and/or more affordable payment? I'd like some details before I make my donation. Peace. And remember... "Heaven help the man who kicks the man who crawls."

@Mom2005 it isnt rude think its more of like... DAMN really again?? that stinks. Sorry we gave to the homeless family living under the overpass instead.--- Just to add to the Obama thing my fav quote " I Want my daughters to have the same oppourtunity as your sons" Well.... i want both of MY kids to have the same oppourtunities as YOUR daughters:)

Mom2005 - 12/11/2008 11:44 AM
So not only did this family get help once now we are asking for more. I don't want to sound rude but I am thinking there are a tons of families who have never had the support even once that sure could use it.

As for the Obamas personifying the American dream... yes. Barack and his mother came from low standards (His grandmother notwithstanding) to work their way higher up-- for his mother, college, for him, the presidency. And you're welcome cheesecurds. Everyone needs a laugh now and then :D
