Fatal Accident in Mount Clemens

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident at Gratiot and Joy in Mount Clemens.

Police say a 36-year-old Clinton Township woman was killed when she hit by an 18-year-old from Mount Clemens. Officers say the woman was driving westbound on Joy in a Burgundy Chrysler Sebring when the 18-year-old, who was driving northbound on Gratiot ran a red light.

The woman's 7-year-old daughter was in the car at the time of the accident. She wasn't injured. The male driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for a minor injury. He has been arrested for negligent homicide.
