MELVINDALE, Mich. (WXYZ)- Boxer Mickey Goodwin has been found dead in his home. Melvindale police say he may have suffered a stroke and fell down the stairs.

The 50 year-old's body was discovered Tuesday evening. Police say Goodwin's mother wasn't home at the time.
Goodwin was trained at Detroit's Kronk Gym by Emanuel Steward, who also trained Thomas Hearns and Hilmer Kenty. He was called the famed gyms first star by many in the boxing industry.
Goodwin won the Golden Gloves title in 1975 and turned pro two years later, earning a 40-2-1 record with 28 knockouts as a light heavyweight. However Goodwin never won a championship.
Goodwin fought his last bout in 1994.
