DETROIT (WXYZ) - A traffic headache is over for drivers who have dealt with I-75 detours every day for months. The Gateway project is now officially over!

Both the southbound lanes and northbound lanes reopened to traffic Thursday afternoon.

The Gateway project in southwest Detroit lasted for 17 months.
