It's still a few feet deep but not quite the lake it was after the hard and steady rain over the weekend.
Sharon West and her husband came home from up north to find water around the house, inside the house and in the basement, and they've been working ever since to clean it up and bail it out.
Several homes in Lapeer County were surrounded by water from the rain and the overflow from the Flint River. County officials say the ground was so saturated it could not hold another drop. They have declared a local state of emergency.
Sharon says they are on their second sump pump, they need to rip up carpet in the basement and in a bedroom, and they need to hope this never happens again..
County officials want people to know if they have flooding , report it, and if they travel M-53 avoid it. A huge sink hold caused by the rain won't be fixed for at least 10 days.
