Motown's 50th Anniversary Gala
DETROIT (WXYZ) - The heart of Detroit is beating with glitz, glamour and family fun, as the celebration of Motown's 50th anniversary is under way.

The Motown Historical Museum--the original home of Motown Records Corp.--kicks off its gala weekend Friday with a party honoring Motown alumni at Detroit's Roostertail restaurant. Members of some of the famous vocal groups of the 1960s will be giving out autographed photos to fans.

The main attraction is Saturday at downtown's Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, as an evening of tributes and scheduled performances by Aretha Franklin, the Temptations and duet partners Stevie Wonder and Kid Rock will take place. Motown founder Berry Gordy also plans to appear.

Tickets start at $350 and proceeds benefit the museum.
